By downloading, installing, or using Umbra ("the App"), you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement ("EULA"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not download, install, or use the App.
Umbra is a privacy-first web browser developed and maintained by NorseHorse ("we," "us," "our"). Umbra is available on iOS, macOS, and Linux, and provides tab isolation, content blocking, anti-fingerprinting, encrypted DNS, UTM stripping, and encrypted local bookmarks.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on devices you own or control, strictly in accordance with this EULA and any applicable App Store terms.
Umbra offers three tiers:
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and managed via your account settings. Prices may vary by region. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings.
You agree to use Umbra only for lawful purposes. You may not use the App to:
Umbra's content blocking feature is designed to block ads, trackers, and fingerprinting scripts. We do not guarantee that all ads or trackers will be blocked, nor that blocking will not occasionally interfere with website functionality. You may whitelist specific sites where blocking causes issues. Content blocking effectiveness may vary across platforms.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into this EULA by reference. Umbra is designed so that your browsing data never leaves your device. We do not collect, store, or sell your browsing history, search queries, or personal data.
The App, including all code, design, graphics, logos, and content, is the property of NorseHorse and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. This EULA does not grant you any ownership rights in the App.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORSEHORSE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NorseHorse and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of this EULA.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you breach this EULA. Upon termination, your license to use the App is immediately revoked. Sections 8 through 11 survive termination.
The App may interact with third-party services such as DNS providers (Cloudflare, Google, Quad9) and blocklist providers. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
We may update the App or this EULA from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
If any provision of this EULA is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
This EULA, together with the Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and NorseHorse regarding the App and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings.
